Privacy Policy

ExpertMovers is a free directory of moving companies registered with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), with a form you can use to request moving quotes. This policy explains what information we handle, why, and who receives it. It is written to describe what the site actually does.

Browsing the directory

You can search and read every page without giving us any personal information. We don't run advertising trackers on this site.

• Visit source. A small script on the site remembers how you arrived — for example the referring website, the search engine, or campaign tags in the link (such as utm_source), plus the first page you landed on and the type of device (mobile or desktop). It stores this in your browser's local storage for up to 30 days and in session storage for the current visit. It is only sent to us if you submit a form.
• Fonts. Pages load typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers and Google receives your IP address, as with any website that uses them.
• Hosting. The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes standard technical data such as IP addresses and request logs to deliver and protect the site.

Requesting moving quotes

When you submit the quote form, we receive:

• Where you are moving from and to (city, state and ZIP code), your move size and your preferred moving date;
• Your first and last name, phone number and email address;
• The page you submitted from and the visit source described above.

Who receives it. The form is delivered by Web3Forms, a form-processing service. We pass your request to moving partners — independent moving companies and moving brokers — who serve your route, so they can contact you with quotes. By submitting the form you agree to be contacted about your move by phone, text message or email. The companies that contact you are not the movers listed on the page you submitted from unless they tell you so, and they handle your information under their own privacy policies.

We don't sell your information to data brokers, and we don't use it for anything other than your moving request and keeping records of it.

Contact form

If you write to us through the contact form, we receive your name, email address and message, delivered by Web3Forms, and use them only to reply.

How long we keep it

We keep quote and contact requests for as long as needed to handle them and keep business records, then delete them. Information in your browser's storage expires after 30 days, or when you clear it.

Your choices

• Ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, through the contact form.
• Tell any company that contacts you about a quote to stop; you can also reply STOP to text messages.
• Clear your browser's site data to remove the stored visit source.

Depending on where you live, state privacy laws may give you additional rights, such as access, correction and deletion. We will honor those requests sent through the contact form.

Children

The site is meant for adults planning a move. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Mover data

The company information in the directory — names, USDOT and MC numbers, business addresses and phone numbers — comes from public FMCSA registration records about businesses. See how the directory works.

Changes

If we change how the site handles information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
